Import coverage / current beta
Know what will import before you upload.
Parallax does not connect to every broker. Coverage and accuracy depend on the source, export format, date range, optional files, and available market data. Check how your broker is handled before you upload your history.
Fineco
Method
Excel securities export (Portafoglio → Reports → Titoli) in .xls or .xlsx format. The current-account movements and multicurrency exchange exports can be attached to the same upload and are recommended. Fineco exports reach back at most four years, so shares bought earlier and still held do not appear. How to export all three.
Captured
Buys and sells with ISIN, quantity, price, and currency; stock splits reconciled during import; and, with the optional files, real deposits, withdrawals, fees, and per-currency cash balances.
Limits
Without the cash files, opening cash is estimated from the trade history rather than known. Transfers to another savings or brokerage account can appear as withdrawals unless the surrounding history clarifies them.
DEGIRO
Method
The Account statement (Inbox → Account statement), not the Transactions export, in .csv, .xlsx, or .xls format with English or Dutch column headings, covering the complete date range the investor wants analyzed. How to export it.
Captured
Buys and sells with ISIN, quantity, price, and currency, plus deposits, withdrawals, dividends, withholding tax, and fees read from the row descriptions. Currency conversions and cash sweeps to the linked flatexDEGIRO account are internal movements, not deposits.
Limits
Cash-event coverage depends on the transaction descriptions in the supplied export. Review the reconstructed cash history before accepting performance conclusions.
eToro
Method
Excel account-statement workbook in .xls or .xlsx format, optionally paired with an eToro API key. The statement establishes the history; the key keeps trades current between statements without re-exporting. How to export it.
Captured
Account Activity is the primary sheet. Closed Positions and Dividends, when present, improve symbol matching. CFD, crypto, leveraged, and short positions are detected and tagged.
Limits
CSV exports do not contain the workbook sheets the importer expects. eToro publishes no deposit or withdrawal endpoint, so the statement remains the source of funding history even with a key connected. Some holding-duration and position-size analytics exclude leveraged and short trades because the same interpretation is not reliable.
Trading 212
Method
Either an API connection using a key pair generated in the Trading 212 mobile app, with no file to upload and no statement needed first, or a CSV export from the History screen. One account uses one or the other, not both. If you would rather not issue a key, the file takes the same history. How to do either.
Captured
Every fill with the broker’s own fill identifier, so repeated syncing cannot duplicate a trade. Deposits, withdrawals, fees and interest arrive with their direction stated rather than inferred. Every instrument carries an ISIN, so holdings identify themselves. Splits and other corporate actions are recognised and kept out of the trade history.
Limits
The CSV path is beta and does not yet read corporate actions; the API path does. Invest and Stocks ISA accounts only; a SIPP cannot be connected. Multi-currency accounts are not supported by the API, which reports every value in the account’s primary currency. Trading 212 allows six history requests a minute per account, so a first import of a busy account takes several minutes and continues in the background.
Trading 212 lets you choose a key’s permissions when you generate it. Parallax needs only the read permissions, which are account data, portfolio and history, so leave order placement off. A key that allows orders could trade. Parallax never calls the order endpoints: its Trading 212 client only sends read requests, and a test fails if that changes. Both halves of the key pair are stored encrypted and never shown back in the browser. You can restrict the key to specific IP addresses, or revoke it, in the Trading 212 app at any time.
Interactive Brokers
Method
Flex Web Service connection using an IBKR token and an Activity Flex Query configured as XML with all relevant sections selected. How to set it up.
Captured
Trades, dividends, fees, deposits, withdrawals, FX conversions, transfers, corporate actions, and position reconciliation against the positions reported by IBKR.
Limits
Initial Flex Query setup is required. One request covers at most 365 days, and IBKR statements are produced after the trading day, so today's activity normally appears later.
The Flex token is stored encrypted and never shown back in the browser. Parallax uses it only to fetch statements. It has no way to place orders.
Additional brokersbeta
Nineteen further brokers can be imported today, and support for them is in beta. Each was built against the broker’s published sample export, or for Scalable Capital its published export format, rather than a real account. Every import shows you the rows it did not understand before it writes anything, and a row that cannot be read is left out and reported rather than guessed at. If you use one of these brokers, you can help. Sharing one real export privately is what moves a broker out of beta.
Method
A CSV export from the broker, covering the full period you want analyzed.
| Broker | How holdings are identified | Limits |
|---|---|---|
| Revolut | Ticker only | No ISIN, so holdings match on ticker alone. Check the listing shown for each symbol. Stock splits and Revolut’s own entity transfers are not imported. |
| Trade Republic | ISIN | One file covers brokerage and cash. Amounts are read as euros; the export states no currency. Crypto rows are not read. |
| Scalable Capital | ISIN | Buys, sells, savings plans, distributions and cash. The export needs a PRIME or PRIME+ plan. Whether a free-plan order fee is already inside the trade amount is not yet confirmed. Security transfers, corporate actions and crypto are not read. |
| XTB | Ticker and market | Stocks and ETFs only; the CFD side of an account and corporate actions are not read. The export never names the account’s currency: it is read from the trades, and when they cannot settle it you are asked. Trades on the London Stock Exchange are priced in the account’s currency, since the export does not say which of pounds, pence or dollars a London listing trades in. |
| Nordnet | ISIN | Any of the four site languages (Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, Finnish). One depot per file: an export covering several is refused, so their holdings are not mixed. Securities transfers, fund exchanges, splits and other corporate actions are not read, nor are currency exchanges. |
| Hargreaves Lansdown | Name only | HL’s export names each security but gives no ISIN or ticker, so you match each one to its listing in the import preview, once; later uploads reuse the match. Dividends are in the account’s separate income history, which you can upload beside the capital one; prices are read in pence and every amount in pounds. Corporate actions and dividend reinvestments are not read, and a fund with no exchange listing may have no price to value it by. |
| Fidelity UK | Name only | Fidelity’s export names each security but gives no ISIN, so you match each one to its listing in the import preview, once; later uploads reuse the match. One export covers every account unless you choose one, so export each account on its own. Each trade is read at the cash Fidelity booked for it, with dealing charges and stamp duty as fees of their own. Fund switches are not read, and a fund with no exchange listing may have no price to value it by. |
| comdirect | ISIN | Trades only: the depot export from the personal area carries buys and sales, with no cash, fees, taxes or dividends, so cash will not reconcile from this file alone. It reaches back about a year; older history is only in comdirect’s PDF reports. Depot transfers and bonds held in nominal are not read. |
| Vanguard UK | Name only | Vanguard’s report names each fund and ETF but gives no ISIN, so you match each one to its listing in the import preview, once; later uploads reuse the match. Each account is its own sheet of the report, saved as its own CSV. Trades are read at the cash that moved and dividends land on the holding that paid them. Name changes and units sold to pay a fee are not read, and a fund with no exchange listing may have no price to value it by. |
| interactive investor | Ticker | ii’s export gives each holding’s ticker and SEDOL but no ISIN, so check the listing the preview shows for each. It covers one account and one currency per file: import the file in the account’s own currency. Each trade is read at the cash ii booked, stamp duty and the dealing charge included. A liquidation is not read. |
| Directa | ISIN | Directa exports at most 3,000 movements per file, so export a long history in periods and upload them oldest first. Directa writes no price: each trade is read at the euros it booked, a foreign share’s included. A margin loan (Finanziamento) is not read. |
| Lightyear | ISIN | Lightyear keeps a balance per currency: each conversion is read as its two legs and its fee, and a dollar trade as a dollar trade. A platform reward is not read: it could count as money paid in or as income, so the preview lists it for you to see. |
| Freetrade | ISIN, ticker, venue | Freetrade’s export excludes corporate actions entirely, so a split is not in the file to find. |
| InvestEngine | ISIN | Trades only. The export carries no dividends, deposits or withdrawals, so cash will not reconcile from this file alone. |
| Avanza | ISIN | Avanza’s own realised-profit column is not imported. Parallax works out realised gains from your trades instead. |
| Rabobank | ISIN | Deposits and withdrawals share one label in the export and are told apart by the sign of the amount. |
| Swissquote | ISIN, symbol | The export carries a running cash balance that is not yet used to derive cash; a real export is needed before trusting that column. |
| Saxo | ISIN, ticker and market | Saxo states each instrument’s market, so holdings identify themselves exactly. Trade rows put quantity and price inside a sentence; a row that cannot be read is reported, never imported at a price of zero. |
| BUX | ISIN | Corporate actions and BUX’s promotional and correction rows are not imported, because the export does not say enough about them to act on. |
Manual snapshot CSV
Method
Use the Parallax example format with one column per snapshot date, a DATE row, an optional REASONING row, and one row per ticker holding the number of shares at each date.
Best for
Brokers Parallax does not support yet, filling in older history, and investors who only know their holdings on certain dates. It records holdings by date, not individual trades, so analytics that need each trade may be unavailable.
Market data boundaries
- Instrument identity depends on ticker, venue, ISIN, currency, and provider coverage. Similar symbols can refer to different securities.
- Historical prices, FX rates, splits, and corporate actions may arrive from different sources and at different times.
- Missing or out-of-date data shows as a warning or as a calculation marked unavailable, never as an invented value.
- A live price and the previous close can come from different times when markets or data providers are not in step.
- The combined view leaves out analyses that stop meaning anything once accounts are added together.
A large history, or stocks Parallax has not priced before, can take several minutes to import.
