Terms of service / draft

The terms, in plain words.

These terms cover using Parallax and paying for it. Paid plans are announced but not on sale yet; until they open, the beta is free and nothing here charges you anything.

Who we are

The seller's details (name, KVK number, BTW-id and address) are published here when paid plans open. Until then, write to support@parallaxinvesting.com.

Parallax Investing is run by {{SELLER_NAME}}, a sole proprietor (eenmanszaak) registered in the Netherlands.

In these terms, "we" means Parallax Investing and "you" means the person using it.

The service

Parallax reads the brokerage history you import or connect, and measures it: each change to your holdings is held forward against the portfolio you left, alongside returns, drawdowns and the rest of the dashboard. It is read-only. It places no orders, moves no money, and files no taxes.

Access is approved individually. You need an account, and you are responsible for keeping its password to yourself and for having the right to use any brokerage data you upload.

To have your account and its data deleted, write to support@parallaxinvesting.com. The app has no delete button yet.

How your data is handled is set out on the privacy and billing and payments sections of the trust page.

Plans and prices

There are three plans. What each one includes is listed on the pricing page.

  • Basic costs €3.99 a month or €35 a year.
  • Plus costs €7.99 a month or €69 a year.
  • Pro costs €14.99 a month or €139 a year.

Prices are in euros and include VAT. Checkout may show the amount in your local currency; the amount it shows is the amount you pay.

The trial

A newly approved account gets Pro for 14 days, free and with no card. Nothing is charged when a trial ends. To keep using Parallax after it, choose a plan; until you do, the account is locked as set out below.

Beta users

Accounts approved during the beta keep Pro free until 31 December 2026. After that, an account with no plan chosen is locked as set out below.

An account with no plan

When a trial or a paid plan ends and no plan has been chosen, the account is locked until you choose one. After signing in you see the choice of plans, and Settings, where you can manage billing and your profile, or export a backup of your data. Nothing is deleted while an account is locked, and the backup export stays available. Choose a plan and everything is there as you left it.

Billing through Stripe

Paid plans are sold through Link, Stripe's checkout, which acts as the merchant of record. That means Link, not us, is the seller on your receipt: it takes the payment, charges the VAT that applies where you live, sends the receipt and invoice, and handles payment questions and disputes. Your card statement shows LINK.COM* PARALLAX.

Link's own terms apply to the payment itself, alongside these terms for the service. We never see or store your card details. We keep the Stripe customer ID, your plan, its status and its renewal date, so that the app knows what you have paid for.

Renewal and cancellation

Renewal

A paid plan renews automatically at the end of each month or year, at the price shown when you subscribed, until you cancel. If we change a price, we tell you by email at least 30 days before it applies, and it applies only from your next renewal after that.

Cancellation

You can cancel at any time from Settings. Cancelling stops the next renewal: you keep the plan until the end of the period you have paid for, and then the account is locked until you choose a plan again. You are not charged again, and nothing is deleted.

Changing plan

Moving to a bigger plan applies straight away, and you pay the difference for the rest of the period. Moving to a smaller plan applies at the end of the period.

A failed payment

If a renewal payment fails, Stripe retries it. The paid plan stays on for 7 days while it does; after that the account is locked until the payment goes through or you choose another plan.

Right of withdrawal

If you live in the European Union, you can withdraw from a new subscription within 14 days of taking it out, without giving a reason.

At checkout you ask for the plan to start straight away, before those 14 days are over, and you confirm that you know this. That does not take your right of withdrawal away. If you withdraw within the 14 days, you get the first payment back in full.

To withdraw, cancel from Settings and write to support@parallaxinvesting.com saying you are withdrawing, or use the withdrawal route Link offers with your receipt. A plain statement is enough; no form is needed.

Refunds

  • Within 14 days of a new subscription: a full refund, as above.
  • A yearly renewal you did not mean to keep: write to us within 14 days of the renewal charge and we refund it in full.
  • Otherwise: cancelling ends the plan at the end of the paid period, and the rest of that period is not refunded.

If the service was unavailable or broken for a significant part of a period you paid for, write to us and we will make it right. None of this limits a refund the law gives you anyway. Refunds go back to the original payment method, through Link.

What a downgrade keeps

Moving to a smaller plan gives you fewer accounts or features. It never deletes anything you imported or wrote, and neither does a locked account.

  • Accounts over the new plan's limit become read-only: still visible, but with no new imports or syncs. You choose which account stays active.
  • Broker API syncs pause. Their keys stay stored, encrypted, until you remove them.
  • A connected Claude, ChatGPT or other assistant stays connected, and is told the feature needs Pro.
  • The longer decision windows are hidden, not deleted.
  • The portfolio backup export stays available on every plan, and on a locked account.

Upgrade again and everything comes back as it was.

Not investment advice

Parallax is analytical software for education and review. It is not investment, tax, legal or financial advice, and it does not know your full financial position or goals. Past results, move edges and comparisons do not predict future results. Market and currency data can be late, missing or wrong. The decisions are yours, and so is checking important numbers against your broker's records. The risk disclosure says more.

Availability and liability

We work to keep Parallax running and its numbers right, but we cannot promise it will always be available or free of errors.

We are not liable for investment decisions you make, or for losses that follow from them. Beyond that, our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. None of this limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited, such as for intent or gross negligence, or any right you have as a consumer that cannot be waived.

We may suspend an account that is used to attack the service or to break the law. Where we can, we tell you first and give you the chance to export your data.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms in a way that matters to a paid plan, we email you at least 30 days before the change applies. If you do not agree, you can cancel before then, and the old terms apply until your paid period ends.

Governing law

These terms are governed by Dutch law. If you are a consumer living elsewhere in the EU, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country where you live, and you can bring a claim in its courts.

If something goes wrong, write to support@parallaxinvesting.com first; most problems are quicker to sort out that way.

Terms revision: draft of 7 October 2026.
